Blog: Effective Eating

The Best Types of Foods to Eat in Order of Effectiveness.

  1. Real FOOD is ALWAYS the best! = HIGH OCTANE
A lean protein, High Octane Carb, and vegetables are optimal for unstoppable energy, fat burning and adding muscle.
  2. Meal Replacement Shakes (MRP)
    These are shakes that are:

    • low in sugar
    • low in fat

I use and recommend only whey derived from healthy cows. As you probably know cattle live in a box, rarely see daylight and are injected with drugs and chemicals. They are sick cows producing diseased milk. Common sense will tell you to avoid any protein that is not from grass fed free range drug free cows.

  3. Shakes in a can or bottle
These are O.K. when you are in a bind. The protein is of low quality which translates into poor absorption and usually gastrointestinal distress. By the way, they are about as tasty as month-old Nestle Quick made with toilet water. Surprisingly, a lot of people drink them.
  4. Nutrition bars with at least 20 grams of protein
Over the last few years literally hundreds of bars have come out on the market. Since there is not any bar that is low in sugar and fat, I am not the biggest fan. They are incredibly convenient and are not a bad choice if you spend a lot of time at Wendy’s or Mickey D’s. It would be an improvement.
  5. LOW OCTANE food.
Yes, it is better to eat low octane foods than nothing at all. If you are stuck try to make better choices and control the portion sizes. The other day, I was driving back to Ft. Lauderdale from Tampa and I was starving. At the gas station, I picked up an apple (carb), some beef jerky (lean protein) and water. It was the best choice considering the circumstance. Just EAT! Skipping a meal will generate intense cravings that will derail even the most motivated people.
