Blog: Physical Training

At a press conference for an upcoming title bout, Muhammad Ali was asked, “Muhammad, how many sit-ups did you have to do to get a stomach like that?”

The Champ quickly responded, “I don’t know.”

The reporter amazed by his comment asked, “What do you mean you don’t know?”

Muhammad replied, “I don’t start counting until it starts hurting.”

That short exchange has stayed with me for years. It teaches a valuable lesson. In fact, THE most important lesson when training to achieve RESULTS.

CHALLENGE = CHANGE

Think about it.  When do most people stop a set?

When it starts to hurt…when it becomes uncomfortable.

This moment when the pain arises is when opportunity presents itself.

The burn… the pain is the indicator of future success.

The longer you can embrace it the greater the reward.

Stay Strong,
